A Periodic Inspection and Testing (PIR) is an inspection on the condition of an electrical installation, to identify any deficiencies against the National Safety Standard for electrical installations.

Periodic inspection and testing of your electrical installation is necessary because all electrical installations deteriorate due to a number of factors such as damage, wear, tear, excessive electrical loading, aging and environmental influences. Just because your lights and sockets work it does not mean that the electrical installation is safe and only a full inspection and test of the electrical installation will show how safe it is.

A periodic inspection and test will confirm that your electrical installation is in a satisfactory condition and list any faults that require remedial works to bring to a satisfactory standard.

Did you know that BS 7671 IEE wiring standards recommend that all electrical installations should be inspected and tested by a qualified person at a period of no more than 10 years.
